Stijlvolle hond met een bouw van een galoppeur. Bouw doet denken aan die van een fors jachtpaard. Hele hond is symmetrisch
General Appearance:
A stylish dog, built on galloping lines, having a thoroughbred appearance consistent with its build which can be compared to a weight-carrying hunter. Must have symmetrical conformation throughout, showing true balance. Strong fairly short and level back. Short tail. Head fairly long, clearly lined with intelligent expression, clear colours and long flat tail.
Hoofd;
Hoofd is eerder diep dan breed, maar breder dan de voorsnuit met veel ruimte voor de hersenen. De schedel is licht gewelfd en het breedst tussen de oren. Duidelijke stop, de afstand van de achterhoofd- knobbel tot de stop is langer dan die van de stop naar de neus. De wangen zo droog mogelijk. Voorsnuit lang met bijna evenwijdige lijnen, niet puntig of spits. Lippen niet overhangend, maar duidelijk afgetekend. Grote brede neus, neusgaten open en zwart. De snuit minder diep dan lang.
Head:
Head deep rather than broad, but definitely broader than the muzzle, showing brain room. Skull slightly rounded and broadest between the ears. The head should have a clearly indicated stop and length from occiput to stop should be slightly longer than from stop to nose. Below and above the eyes should be lean and the cheeks as narrow as the leanness of the head allows. The muzzle should be fairly long with almost parallel lines and not pointed as seen from above or from the side. The flews not pendulous but with clearly indicated lips. Nose big and broad with open nostrils and black in colour. The muzzle should not be quite as deep as its length.
Ogen:
Donker bruin, helder, niet diepliggend en niet bol, voldoende onder de wenkbrauwboog geplaatst met een levendige, intelligente uitdrukking
Eyes
Of fair size, not too deep nor too prominent but sufficiently under the brows to show keen and intelligent expression. Dark brown and bright.
Oren:
Middelmatig lang, dun. Laag aangezet en vlak tegen het hoofd aanliggend
Ears:
Of medium length, low ear set.
Gebit:
Sterke kaken met een perfect, regelmatig en compleet schaargebit, dat wil zeggen dat de boventanden vlak over de ondertanden heen sluiten en recht in de kaak geplaatst zijn.
Mouth
Must be even and not under nor overshot, i.e. scissor bite.
Hals:
Lang, droog, gebogen zonder keelhuid
Neck
Long, lean and arched to the head and without any throatiness.
Voorhand:
Lange schouderbladen, goed schuin geplaatst, breed ovaal bot, toppen van de schouderbladen dicht bij elkaar, niet beladen. Laaggeplaatste ellebogen, die vlak tegen het lichaam aansluiten. Voorbenen met ovaal bot, recht en sterk: rechte polsen.
Forequarters
Shoulders should be long and slope well back; with wide flat bone and fairly close at the withers; should not be loaded, i.e. too thick which interferes with liberty of movement. Elbows well let down and showing well under the body, which gives freedom of action. Forelegs big, flat boned and straight with strong upright pasterns, well feathered.
Lichaam:
Middelmatige lengte, diepe borst, goed gewelfde ribben. De achterste ribben diep. Brede licht gewelfde lendenen. Voorborst niet te breed.
Body
Of moderate length, deep in brisket, with ribs well sprung. Deep in back ribs, i.e. well ribbed up. Loins wide and slightly arched. Chest not too broad.
Achterhand:
Van heup tot sprong, breed en gespierd. Van sprong tot hak kort, sterk. Goede knie hoeking. Middenvoeten loodrecht. Het bekken ligt bijna horizontaal.
Hindquarters
Hind legs from hip to hock should be long and muscular, hock to heaal short and strong, stifles well bent; hocks straight, not inclined either in or out. Pelvis should tend to the horizontal, i.e. opposite of goose rump.
Voeten:
Ovaal, goed gesloten, goed gewelfde tenen met veel haar tussen de tenen. Stevige voetzolen met dikke achterste voetzoolkussens.
Feet
Oval with close knit, well arched toes, with plenty of hair between. Full toe pads and deep heel cushions.
Staart:
Recht of enigszins sabel vormig. Niet beneden de sprong reikend. Wordt horizontaal of onder de ruglijn gedragen. Dik bij de staartwortel en uitlopend in een fijne punt. De bevedering begint bij de staartwortel, is lang en recht en wordt korter naar de staartpunt toe.
Tail
Fairly short, straight or slightly scimitar shaped and should not reach below the hocks. Carried horizontal or below line of back. Thick at the root tapering to a fine point. The feather or flag which starts near the root should be long and straight and growing shorter uniformly to the point.
Gangwerk/beweging:
Regelmatig, vrij en zuiver met veel stuwkracht uit de achterhand.
Beharing:
Kort en fijn op het hoofd, de voorzijde van de benen en oorpunten; matig lang, glad en niet krullend of golvend op de rest van het lichaam. Bevedering op de oren lang en zijdeachtig, aan de achterzijde van de benen lang, fijn en recht. De beharing van de onderzijde mag doorlopen tot aan de borst en hals. Zo vlak en recht mogelijk.
Coat
On the head and front of legs should be short and fine but on all other parts of the body and legs it ought to be of moderate length, fairly flat and free as possible form curl or wave. The feather on the upper portion of the ears should be long and silky, on the back of the hind legs, long and fine: a fair amount of hair on the belly forming a nice fringe which may extend on the chest and throat. All feathering to be flat and straight as possible.
Kleur:
Diepglanzend gitzwart met kastanjerode tan aftekeningen. Zwarte haren op de tenen en een zwarte streep onder de kaak is toegestaan.
Colour
Deep shining coal black, with no signs of rustiness, with tan markings of a rich chestnut red, i.e. colour of a ripe horse chestnut as taken from shell. Tan should be lustrous, black pencilling allowed on toes and also black streak under jaw.
Tan-aftekeningen:
Twee duidelijke vlekken boven de ogen, niet groter dan ca. 2 cm. In de doorsnede op de zijkant van de voorsnuit, waarbij het tan niet boven de onderzijde van de neusspiegel mag reiken; het moet lijken op een duidelijk afgetekende band om de snuit heen. Verder aan de keel en twee grote duidelijke vlekken op de voorborst. Aan de binnenzijde van de achterbenen en dijen, bij de knie overgaand naar de voorkant en zich uitbreidend naar de buitenzijde van de achterbenen vanaf de sprong tot de tenen. Aan de voorbenen: aan de achterzijde tot aan de ellebogen en aan de voorzijde tot aan de voorknie of iets daarboven. Om de anus.
Een heel klein wit borstvlekje is toegestaan. Geen andere kleur geoorloofd.
Tan Markings
Two clear spots over the eyes not over 3/4in. in diameter. On the sides of the muzzle, the tan should not reach above the base of the nose, resembling a stripe around the end of the muzzle from one side to the other. On the throat. Two large clear spots on the chest. On the inside of the hind legs and inside the thighs showing down the front of the stifle and broadening out to the outside of the hind legs from hocks to toes. It must, however, not completely eliminate the black on the back of the hind legs. On the forelegs, up to the elbows behind, and to the knees or a little above in front. Around the vent. A white spot on the chest is allowed but the smaller the better.
