Spansett is a kennel dedicated to the Gordon Setter & Cocker Spaniel. Both breeds first won our hearts through the loyal companionship we experienced in our daily life with them
Our goal has been the pursuit of the ideal Gordon Setter!
The Gordon Setter is a beautiful companion/family dog. Most breeders will take great care to properly place their puppies. We need to know you better and you should likewise inquire about our breeding practices.
Our personal philosophy is to breed quality proven lines with quality lines. We are constantly striving to improve our stock, both to our own breeding and through importing new bloodlines . Our stud dogs and brood bitches are of sound confirmation, health tested and exhibit excellent temperaments and natural abilities
Our goal in breeding is to produce healthy Gordon Setters with outstanding temperament, drive and conformation We breed for a whole family dog- not exclusively a “show”dog. A healthy, well-structured dog will serve you well whether you want a snuggly couch potato, a hiking companion or a competitive show dog. Our dogs are all this and more and we look for studs who compliment each dog's unique strengths
We show our dogs in conformation, not to win ribbons, but to secure unbiased assessment that our dogs meet the breed standard.
Our kennel is registered with the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI). We are member of the Dutch&Belgium Gordon setter club..
We occasionally have puppies or older stock available. All of the dogs and puppies we breed are home raised, widely socialized, chipped and followed by a full veterinary health exam. All puppies we breed will get an LOSH Pedigree.
Our puppies are placed in homes to be raised with families. We hope to develop strong, positive relationships with our puppy owners. We are willing to share all our information regarding the dogs we have bred and any health issues that a dog may have. We will be available with help and advice if any puppy we bred has a health or behavior issue. If a puppy owner is interested in showing, competing in companion events, or breeding, we are willing mentors and friends We guarantee our puppies for their life-time in that the dog cannot be resold, transferred ownership, placed or given away. We will always take our dogs back at any age.!
Note!
A concerned breeder will always house-raise their Gordon Setter puppies and evaluate the entire litter for structure and temperament before the pups go to their forever homes. A reputable breeder should have a thorough knowledge of their dog's ancestors (pedigree) including genotype (genetic) and phenotype (structure/type). There is no perfect dog and a breeder should be willing to discuss the positive points as well as the negatives of their lines!!
